BC Netball supports the development and training of coaches of all levels and experiences and encourages you to become certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). The NCCP is delivered in partnership with the government of Canada, provincial/territorial governments and national/provincial/territorial sport organizations with workshops designed for all types of coaches. About the NCCP Levels

Level 1

There are 4 components to the Level 1 coaching certification program:

  1. Theory – complete the NCCP Competition Theory A (3 modules- Make Ethical Decisions, Planning a Practice, Nutrition).
  2. Technical – attend the netball technical course.
  3. Practical – complete a set number of hours coaching a team at a club or junior level.
  4. Assessment – be assessed by a trainer.

Level 2

There are 4 components to the Level 2 coaching certification program:

  1. Theory – complete the NCCP Competition Theory B (3 modules- Design a Basic Sport Program, Teaching and Learning, Basic Mental Skills).
  2. Technical – attend the netball technical course.
  3. Practical – complete a set number of hours coaching a team at a junior or club level.
  4. Assessment – be assessed by a trainer.

Level 3

There are 4 components to the Level 3 coaching certification program:

  1. Theory – Developing Competition (4 of these 6 modules are required to be completed- Developing Athletic Abilities, Coaching and Leading Effectively, Leading Drug Free Sport, Prevention and Recovery, Psychology of Performance, Managing Conflict).
  2. Technical – attend the netball technical course.
  3. Practical – complete a set number of hours coaching a team at a club, provincial or national level.
  4. Assessment – Be assessed by a trainer.
