In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, BC Netball is working with the government and Viasport and all other PSOs to develop a plan for restarting sport again in this province. We are monitoring the situation and will provide updates on this website.
Update May 26, 2021:
We are moving forward to Stage 3 of our Return to Sport Plan. Outdoor netball can resume immediately. All safety protocols from the Netball Return to Sport Plan should be followed. No indoor netball until the provincial BC Restart Plan advances to Step 2 which will hopefully start in June.
Update March 17, 2021:
We are back to Stage 2 of our Return to Sport Plan with the following exceptions, players must be 3 meters instead of 2 meters apart from each other.
To rehash a notification that was given to us earlier today:
There has been a change to the PHO Order on Gathering and Events that affect adult outdoor sport. Now in effect, group sport activities (e.g: training and drills) are permitted for adults 22+, provided they meet the following conditions:
1) If the group sport is indoors, only two persons participate (no change);
2) If the group sport is outdoors, only ten persons participate (increased from four people);
3) The participants maintain a distance of three metres from one another while engaged in the group sport, unless the participants reside in the same private residence (no change);
4) There are no spectators, unless the presence of a spectator is necessary in order to provide care to a participant (no change).
Update December 12, 2020:
As per Dr. Bonnie Henry’s instructions, all netball activities for adults are cancelled until further notice
Update November 10, 2020:
In response to the current state in BC, we are going back to Stage 2 of our Return to Sport Plan for the next two weeks. Our number one concern is the safety and health of our players and this means no games or scrimmages until further notice.
